With a clear Mediterranean inspiration, Mercure, which is part of Accor Hotels, has opened this summer in Benidorm a completely new type of hotel in the city par excellence for vacations.
Last June, the Mercure Hotel Benidorm opened its doors with the clear objective of providing something different to the usual hotel offer in the city.
Starting from the old Hotel Benilux Park, the family that owns it decided to undertake a major renovation that has transformed the hotel, creating a minimalist, exclusive space with a strong Mediterranean essence that permeates every room at the Mercure Benidorm.
The remodeling has been carried out by Burondo, the architecture and interior design studio created by the sisters Beatriz and Isabel Blanco, and has had the participation of the artist Jorge Parra who has created a series of murals and unique hand-painted ceramic pieces.

The hotel has several elements that can become true icons, such as, for example, the transparent block facade that when night falls and the interior of the hotel lights up, allows life inside the hotel to be transferred to the outside, or the Mediterranean garden which is undoubtedly one of the jewels in the crown with its olive orchard and its aromatic plants that fail to see that strong commitment of the project to Mediterranean cuisine.
Because this is undoubtedly another of the Mercure's highlights. The culinary offer materializes with Malaspina, a restaurant integrated into the hotel but which can also be visited by people who are not staying at the Mercure. Malaspina bases its offer on Mediterranean cuisine and has a show-cooking and cocktail bar that will delight the lucky ones who have the opportunity to visit it.
The hotel has 186 rooms, five of them with the spectacular Open Sky format and it is undoubtedly already a benchmark in the city, positioning itself as an urban hotel in a holiday destination, something unusual, but which of course has a public that does not found this type of offer until now on the Costa Blanca.
