The Major Festivities of Lleida
The most anticipated month for all Lleidans arrives, a month full of parties in which the whole city goes out to enjoy an intense month of May where the festive and cultural offer is defined in variety and quality. Event: Thursday May 10st
At 18: 00h. in the Sant Joan square different physical activities will be carried out, at 18: 45h. In the Plaza Paeria there will be a concert by the Municipal Band of Lleida and, at 20h. in the plenary hall the official proclamation of the Fiesta Mayor will take place and, at 22h. The fireworks castle next to the Segre river will start the festivities.
Friday May 11
From the 8 in the morning different parades will be held in different parts of the city. At 12: 00h. it will be the procession in honor of San Anastasio that will leave from the Nova Cathedral and, later, to the 12: 45h will be celebrated the offering of flowers, one of the most spectacular acts of these days, together with the battle of flowers that will take place to the 19h. in the Enric Granados Auditorium. Once these acts are over there will be concerts.
Saturday May 12
From tomorrow's 11 you will be able to see the art market and the international painting and drawing fair, as well as dances, fireworks throughout the city and concerts until the 5 in the morning of May 13 day that will end the festivities.
The mayor of Lleida, Àngel Ros i Domingo, invites everyone to take to the streets and enjoy together a party that is the essence and pride of Lleida and affirms that “the Fiesta Mayor has to be a source of inspiration for social harmony, of understanding and mutual affection in front of the different visions and feelings that have been experienced these months and the path that must be followed ”.
